Day One – Wednesday, May 17, 2017

  • Depart Columbus for Israel  via Newark, NJ

Day Two – Thursday, May 18, 2017

  • Arrival in Israel on Thursday morning, where we will be met by our representatives and escorted through passport control, baggage claim and customs
  • Transfer to Jerusalem and enjoy a spectacular lookout over Jerusalem from Mt Scopus with musical accompaniment
  • Check-in to the Dan Panorama hotel – unpack, rest and relax
  • Lunch with senior Israeli columnist
  • Mincha at the Kotel
  • Participate in a behind-the-scenes VIP Tour of the Kotel Tunnels as well as the recently opened virtual reality tour of the Temple Mount
  • Return to hotel
  • Dinner with Rabbi Doron Perez, Head of World Mizrachi Organization
  • Overnight: Jerusalem

Day Three – Friday, May 19, 2017

  • Breakfast at hotel with Sherri Mandel, author of “The Blessing of a Broken Heart”
  • Enjoy a thrilling Segway tour along the Haas Promenade and trace the “dividing line” of Jerusalem until 1967
  • Trace the battle for the “mixed” Abu Tor neighborhood during the Six Day War or visit Torat Emet’s Ma’agalim sponsored program in Jerusalem.
  • Experience the vibe at the Machaneh Yehuda Outdoor Market
  • Prepare for Shabbat
  • Candle lighting at the hotel
  • Join thousands of Jews from around the world at festive Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel
  • Dinner and Oneg Shabbat at the hotel with lone soldiers who are currently serving in the IDF
  • Overnight: Jerusalem

Day Four – Shabbat, May 20, 2017

  • Tefilah – choice of many wonderful synagogues and locations
  • Kiddush
  • Learning session with Rabbi David Aaron and/or Rabbi Binny Freedman of Israelight
  • Lunch with Ma’agalim student(s), graduate and counselor
  • Rest and free time
  • Afternoon walking tour in Jerusalem of the beautiful Yemin Moshe neighborhood and Montefiore’s Windmill
  • Mincha, Seudah Shlisheet, Ma’ariv and musical Havdalah
  • Relaxed evening
  • Overnight: Jerusalem

Day Five – Suday, May 21, 2017

  • Breakfast at hotel with Racheli Fraenkel
  • Departure from hotel


  • Enjoy a spectacular lookout from Nebi Samuel
  • Visit the award-winning Psagot Winery for a tour, wine-tasting and a light meal
  • Discover Ancient Shilo – site of the Mishkan
  • Study session with the Bnei David pre-military academy in Eli
  • Meet with Sarah Klein-Levenstein – widow of IDF hero Roi Klein who sacrificed his life to save his fellow soldiers
  • Return to Jerusalem
  • Dinner on own
  • Overnight: Jerusalem

Day Six – Monday, May 22, 2017

  • Breakfast
  • Visit Yad Eliezer and pack food baskets
  • VIP Tour of the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Archaeoloical Campus
  • 6:00 PM Early dinner at hotels
  • 7:00 PM Buses depart to opening event



8:00-11:00 PM Opening Ceremony and Musical Extravaganza in the presence

of Mr Reuven (Rubi) Rivlin, President of the State of Israel, Minister of Education and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennett and other dignitaries, performing artists led by Yaakov Shwekey and Rami Kleinstein.

  • 10:00-10:30 AM Opening of conference - "Jerusalem: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow"
  • 10:45 AM-3:45 PM Concurrent sessions with multiple tracks - lectures, panel discussions and presentations on the spiritual, political, security and economic challenges and opportunities facing Israel and Jerusalem in the 21st Century.
  • Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks and other leading rabbinic thinkers
  • Minister of Education and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennett, Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked and other Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Members of Knesset
  • Generals and other leading members of the military establishment
  • Special track focusing on the battles for Jerusalem in 1967 with the heroic soldiers who fought in each battle
  • The different tracks will be run by prominent institutes in each field, bringing together the Jewish world's top experts
  • Lunch will be served during the course of the proceedings
  • 4:00 PM  Closing of conference - A tribute to the Machal volunteers of 1967 and Israel's Lone Soldiers of today
  • Return to hotels and preparation for Yom Yerushalayim
  • 6:00 PM Dinner at hotels


Please note: some aspects of the Yom Yerushalayim celebrations are yet to be finalized as the national and municipal events have not yet been set and we plan to join those

  • 7:30 AM Join all the Yeshivot Hesder and their leadership in an uplifting Yom Yerushalayim Tefillah, Hallel and dancing at the Kotel plaza
  • 9:30 AM Light breakfast in Old City
  • 10:30 AM-1:30 PM Exclusive multiple walking tours covering all eras of Jerusalem's history in and around the Old City. Tours include Lions Gate 1967 in the footsteps of the paratroopers, rooftop tour of the different quarters, City of David and much more
  • 2:30 PM Lunch
  • 4:00 PM Join mega-flag march - "Rikudgalim" - leading hundreds of thousands from new Jerusalem to the Old City
