Meet The Members! Natanielle and Avi Cooper interviewed by Rebecca Mayerhoff
Torat Emet: Tell us about yourself- your job, where you’re from and your child(ren), and pets! The Coopers: Natanielle was born in London, England but grew up here in Columbus. She graduated from CTA, studied violin performance at OSU, and then got her masters in social work at Simmons College in Boston. She works as a women's and couple's therapist on the east side of Columbus. Avi was born in Atlanta. He went to college at Yeshiva University and studied English literature and biology. He went to Harvard University for medical school and residency, came to OSU for fellowship in pulmonary and critical care, and recently started on faculty there. "We married in 2011 and lived in Cambridge until 2016 when we moved to Columbus. We have a son, Graeme, who will be 3 years old in August. We also have a cat named Archie."
TE: What attracted you to the Main Street synagogue? What do you love about this community? The Coopers: Natanielle and her family have been members of Main Street since high school. And we got married there! But most of all we love the down-to-earth and inclusive atmosphere of the synagogue. TE: What are your interests and hobbies? You can also tell us your favorite books, movies or music. The Coopers: Natanielle enjoys reading fiction, cooking, baking, and gardening. Avi likes to play piano, run, and read about history. We like to watch Netflix shows together and go to local concerts. Graeme likes to explore the various museum around Columbus, especially the Ohio History Connection. He is a fan of Mr. Rogers, anything involving construction or lawn work, and granola bars.
Favorite books - Natanielle: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Avi: When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi Graeme: Mighty Mighty Construction Site Favorite movies - Natanielle: The Goonies Avi: The Shawshank Redemption Graeme: The Wizard of Oz Favorite musicians - Natanielle: Gregory Alan Isakov Avi:Simon and Garfunkel Graeme: Bob Dylan

Avi had a radio show in college, which very few people listened to. Graeme calls his stuffed animals "my guys". TE: Your favorite Graeter's ice cream flavor :) The Coopers: Natanielle's is mint chocolate chip. Avi's is Buckeye blitz. Graeme's is vanilla.
