On December 17, the fifth day of Chanukah, Susie and Stu Appelbaum, Rabbi Ben Berger, Rabbi Michael Emerson, Dr. Joel Fisher, Michelle Lessnick, Skip and Hava Parks, Chanan Siegel, and Rick Zwelling will be travelling with me to Houston Texas to represent Torat Emet and the Columbus Jewish community on a four day Hurricane Harvey relief mission.  Most of these volunteers are taking time off from work and paying for their own airfare. I am appealing to the congregation to help defray the additional costs for ground transportation and sleeping accommodations in Houston, which will total approximately $1600, or $145 per person. With a small contribution you can play a meaningful and direct role in supporting your peers and helping affected families to get back on their feet.

Torat Emet has been supporting Maagalim for the past four years. Assaf has visited our shul on several occassions together with outstanding graduates of their program. Our YY50 mission to Israel also visited their school in Jerusalem and met with counselors, participants and graduates

High Street Synagogue
The High Street Community is a project led by Rabbi Ari Neuman for young professionals looking for meaningful Jewish experiences and fun ways to meet other young Jewish adults. The program's goal is to help its participants learn about Judaism in a way that is exciting, enjoyable, open, and welcoming to others no matter their background.
