Safety & Security Corner
We want to give a big shout-out to the Torat Emet Grants Committee this week. That team has had a lot of success in obtaining state and federal grants to further upgrade our building and security infrastructure. Many of these improvements are “behind the scenes,” yet are absolutely critical to the safety of the congregation, such as upgrades to our lighting systems, video monitoring, and communication systems. Thank you for your efforts!
We also wanted to thank those who have already signed-up to become a member of our CSS security volunteer team. This important endeavor will significantly increase the safety of our congregation and community. Remember, you don’t have to be a ninja-warrior to participate. Instead, you simply need to be willing and able to spend an hour or two on your feet, every few weeks, working with our professional security officers to identify potential threats, manage access to the building, monitor our physical space, de-escalate potential conflicts, and perform other adjunct activities. If you are interested, please sign-up at your earliest convenience to allow for sufficient time to complete the on-line training that is required before the in-person training session on April 23, 2023. See the link below for more information.
Join the New Chesed Committee! Dear Fellow Congregants,
It would be my privilege to partner with you, the Torah Emet Community, in designing and executing a most holy mission.
It is my hope to work together to build ongoing support for our members in times of sickness, stress and loss through acts of Chesed. As a start, I am asking for volunteers to help design effective strategies to connect our community members with opportunities for service. The range of needs are of course vast, encompassing Bikur Cholim, Meals, Regular Check-ins, Social Action and so much more.
Would you like to get real time Torat Emet notifications, hear about volunteer opportunities, and share cheerful tidings and thoughts with fellow Torat Emet members here and in Israel?
Have meaningful and uplifting social and informational conversations (no politics allowed) with your Torat Emet friends. We look forward to hearing from you.
If you need assistance in signing onto the WhatsApp Group please contact Rabbi Neuman at rabbineuman@toratemet.org .
