Safety & Security Corner
An important part of our Safety and Security is to ensure that unauthorized, uninvited, and/or inappropriate individuals don't gain access to the interior of the building. It is important to recognize that the responsibility to manage access is ours, particularly when security personnel are not present. Please do not let anyone in that does not belong in the building, please do not leave doors unlocked or propped open, and please make sure that doors close fully behind you.
In light of this, doors are no longer being left unlocked on Shabbat afternoons. Thus, if you arrive late for Mincha on Shabbat, please be patient, as you may have to wait for someone to finish their prayers before providing access. Thank you for your understanding!
Finally, a reminder that the Jewish Columbus Director of Community Safety, Steve Flowers, will be joining us this Shabbat for a brief introduction and informal mingling during kiddush. Also, please remember to sign up for Entry Point (a 1 hour virtual security training scheduled for January 31st at 7:30 pm) via the previously-distributed email (link below).
Torat Emet Book Club Torat Emet's book group will convene to read and discuss Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel's Sabbath. We will divide the book into three parts. Our first meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 23 at 7:00 pm. If you're interested in participating, please contact Betsey Lane ebetsey@yahoo.com.
Would you like to get real time Torat Emet notifications, hear about volunteer opportunities, and share cheerful tidings and thoughts with fellow Torat Emet members here and in Israel?
Have meaningful and uplifting social and informational conversations (no politics allowed) with your Torat Emet friends. We look forward to hearing from you.
If you need assistance in signing onto the WhatsApp Group please contact Rabbi Neuman at rabbineuman@toratemet.org .
