Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur at Torat Emet
Dear Friends and Members,
We want to wish all of you a very happy, healthy, and meaningful new year. We are excited to share that Chazzan Dovid Weinberg will be leading services on the first day of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur in the Main Sanctuary. Dr. David Eckmann will be leading the Musaf service on the second day of Rosh Hashana. Services will begin at 8:30am on Rosh Hashana and 9:00am on Yom Kippur.
We will be adding an early outdoor service led by members at 7:30am on both Rosh Hashana and 8:00am on Yom Kippur. This service will take place inside of the Torat Emet Sukkah with proper ventilation and covering in case of rain.
There will also be an outdoor family service for one hour at Noon on the first day of Rosh Hashana and at 12:30pm on Yom Kippur. The Family Service will be led by Rabbi Ari Neuman and the Torat Emet Shabbat Youth Leaders and will also take place in the Torat Emet Sukkah.
We are requiring that you sign up in advance to attend services. (You may sign up for the family service in addition to one of the other service options). You must be vaccinated to attend services. Mask wearing is especially important in containing the Covid-19 virus and its variants; therefore, we will require all those attending indoor services to wear a mask. Children under 12 may attend indoor services if masked. We likewise recommend mask wearing for everyone at outside services and programs.
There will be children’s groups held outdoors (weather permitting) and in the large youth lounge downstairs. Details will be forthcoming.
Tashlich: Thank you to Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein who have invited anyone who would like to do Tashlich on the first day of Rosh Hashana to do so at the creek behind their home. The gate to their property will be open from 2:00pm-7:00pm and Tashlich booklets will be available by the creek. There will not be any food or program.
Below you will find our Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur schedule and a link to sign up.

Parking In order for our children to play and for us to hold services safely outdoors over the High Holidays, the synagogue parking lot will be closed. Please make alternate arrangements for parking over the holidays.
Make sure you read street signs carefully in order to avoid your car being ticketed or towed.
PLEASE NOTE: THE BEXLEY LIBRARY PARKING LOT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR OUR USE DURING REGULAR LIBRARY HOURS.
Safety & Security For the safety of all of us, security officers will be posted at the synagogue during the holiday services. If you require assistance or suspect something suspicious, please communicate it to them or to an usher.
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!!!
Our officers are here to do an important job. Conversations with both children and adults are distracting and prevent them from carrying out their important function.
Make sure that your children are either with you in services or in a secure location where we have proper supervision and programming.
Do not allow your children to play in front of the shul on Main Street!
Security is made possible by the JewishColumbus Annual Campaign
Would you like to get real time Torat Emet notifications, hear about volunteer opportunities, and share cheerful tidings and thoughts with fellow Torat Emet members here and in Israel?
Have meaningful and uplifting social and informational conversations (no politics allowed) with your Torat Emet friends. We look forward to hearing from you.
If you need assistance in signing onto the WhatsApp Group please contact the Torat Emet office.
We pray for those who are sick, for everyone’s safety, and for a swift end to this plague.

We were built for this. Nearly a century ago, Jews everywhere found themselves in search of anywhere they could call home. But today, our global Jewish community is one of unmatched strength, inspiring leadership and historic partnerships. Here in Columbus, we model this tradition; and while our community may not look the same as they did decades, months or even days ago, JewishColumbus remains uniquely qualified to meet its ever-evolving needs head-on. Our Jewish future is strong, powerful and vibrant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6YOk8FaBwI&feature=youtu.be
