Important Shul Seating & Vaccination Update from Rabbi Zack
Dear Members and Friends,
Now that several Covid-19 vaccines are more readily available, I want to emphasize in the strongest possible way that everyone who is eligible to get a Covid-19 vaccination should do so as soon as possible. I received information this morning that walk-in appointments are available for the Moderna vaccine at the Franklin County Elections Board building at 1700 Morse Road. You can receive your 1st or 2nd dose there. Best times are between 9:30-11:45am, or 1:30-3:45pm. You can call to verify the clinic is operating that day at 614.525.3100.
As many of our members are receiving their vaccinations and more of you are attending Shabbat and weekday services, we have begun to update our seating policy based on CDC guidelines and input from our Medical Advisory Committee and Halachic Advisors. Here is some important information to know before this coming Shabbat.
Please continue to register online at www.toratemet.org if you plan to attend Shabbat services.
You do not need to register for weekday minyanim.
You must continue to wash your hands and wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose while inside the shul.
If you are fully vaccinated - it has been two weeks since you received the J&J vaccine or a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine - you will be directed to a seat in the main sanctuary that has a blue and white tag.
However, if you are not yet fully vaccinated then you will be directed to take a seat in the balcony. The center balcony upstairs will once again become an ezrat nashim for women only. There will be a section for unvaccinated women and a section for vaccinated women upstairs in addition to downstairs. Unvaccinated men will be seated in the side balconies. All available seats will be marked with a blue and white tag.
If you are unsure of where to go, please ask Jorge, Rabbi Zack or Rabbi Neuman to assist you.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation.
Rabbi Howard Zack
