The Promise

Five years ago a promise was made to strengthen and secure the future of modern Orthodoxy in Columbus, Ohio. That promise was fulfilled on September 22, 2001 with the founding of Congregation Torat Emet - The Main Street Synagogue. Over seventy families with the support of the Schottenstein and Diamond families began the journey to Main Street. Today, we are a congregation of over 150.

The Vision

Integrating dynamic professional and lay leadership in the service of the spiritual, moral, and religious growth of our membership and the local Jewish community. The Main Street Synagogue provides a venue and a comprehensive program for Jewish education and outreach that attracts beginner to advanced seekers and learners, be they adults, teens, or young children. We offer Torah and tradition, and a love for the Land of Israel.

The Reality

Our growth is steady and our new facilities allow us to offer an increased array of services, learning opportunities, and creative adult and youth programs.  We have an experienced and dedicated staff that provides spiritual, moral and practical guidance and support in all areas of personal, synagogue and Jewish communal life.  Synagogue members take a special pride of ownership interest in the welfare of the congregation and its individuals and families.  Congregation Torat Emet -- The Main Street Synagogue welcomes and encourages you to share our vision and experience the reality.
