MSY Shabbat

Shabbat Morning Youth Groups

In addition to our extraordinary Kindercongregation for pre-school children, we provide youth groups for children through 5th Grade.

These outstanding groups feature tefillah, supervised play, and kiddush with a small snack.  Our groups are led primarily by trained youth leaders, but we invite and encourage parent participation as well.

Bnei Akiva Snif

Torat Emet is deeply committed to Israel, and we are so excited to host the only Snif of Bnei Akiva in the entire Columbus Jewish community.  In concert with its association to the religious Zionist youth movement, MSY Bnei Akiva was founded by our youth, and is entirely motivated, planned, and run by our youth.

In addition to promoting the values of Am Yisrael (the nation of Israel), Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel), and Torat Yisrael (the Torah of Israel), Bnei Akiva Snif provides opportunities for our high school students to demonstrate and develop leadership skill that will last them a lifetime.

Snif takes place every other week for children in Grades 2 – 5 before mincha on Shabbat afternoon.  It is led by high school madrichim under adult supervision.  Please check our weekly bulletin for details.

Shabbat Shmuse with Rabbi Unterman

Our Junior MSY students in Grades 6 – 8, are invited every other week (corresponding to Bnei Akiva Snif) into the home of Rivkie and Rabbi Effy Unterman on Shabbat afternoon before mincha.  They enjoy an assortment of snacks, have fun with the Untermans, and discuss questions and Torah insights in an informal and openminded setting that is particularly well suited to children of this age group.  Our students have tremendously benefited from developing a relationship with the Untermans, and they value the time they spend together on Shabbat afternoon.
